Gate of Puszta Information Center

Life on the Bugac Puszta!

Service
The "Gate of the Puszta" Information Center welcomes visitors with nature-focused and tradition-preserving activities, thematic programs, and guided tours. The visitor center serves as an excellent venue for hosting events.
DESCRIPTION

The “Gate of the Puszta” Information Center introduces visitors to the unique world of the Bugac Puszta through an interactive exhibition.

The display presents the landscape’s diverse character—as well as the daily lives and traditions of the shepherds who once lived here—in a playful and engaging manner. The center offers enriching programs for all ages: fascinating lectures, interactive activities, and guided tours help visitors gain a deeper appreciation of the Puszta’s natural and cultural treasures.

Just 200 meters behind the building, a panoramic viewpoint offers a stunning view of the peaceful landscape. From there, nature enthusiasts can continue their journey along the Boróka Nature Trail, where they can discover traditional shepherd structures, visit the Shepherd Museum, and—from spring through autumn—observe the ground squirrels inhabiting the area.

Discounted tickets are available to: children aged 4–18, full-time students, pensioners, accompanying adults (max. 2) for families with three or more children, educators, residents of Bugac and Bugacpusztaháza (upon presentation of an address card).
The following are eligible to purchase a registration ticket: children under the age of 3, persons with disabilities (along with one accompanying person), and employees of domestic national park directorates and their immediate family members.
The above discounts are available only upon presentation of valid documentation entitling the holder to the discount.
