DESCRIPTION

Tiszakécske is an ideal destination for visitors seeking a wide variety of experiences. Set beside the River Tisza, the town offers both active recreation and peaceful relaxation. Its greatest attraction is its rich waterside environment: the River Tisza and its free public beach, the four branches of the oxbow lake, the Nádirigó Nature Trail and two thermal baths supplied with certified medicinal water.
Tiszakécske is one of the few Hungarian towns with two thermal baths. One is located in the holiday resort area, while the other can be found in the Kerekdomb district. Their different styles complement each other and offer varied bathing and wellness experiences.

The sandy riverside beach is one of the relatively few free public beaches along the Tisza. From spring to autumn, paddlers, canoeists and stand-up paddleboarders regularly explore the river. Visitors looking for a slower pace can enjoy a leisurely boat trip, while those who prefer to stay on land can discover one of Hungary’s most beautiful bends of the Tisza on foot, by bicycle or aboard the narrow-gauge railway, which has operated for more than fifty years. An impressive wooden observation tower stands beside the Miskó István Promenade and the railway line.

The 2.5-kilometre Nádirigó Nature Trail runs around the first section of the oxbow lake, partly on raised walkways above the water. Interactive information boards, benches and a small observation tower help visitors discover the area’s wildlife. The second section of the oxbow lake is popular with anglers and regularly hosts family events and international fishing competitions.
Tiszakécske also offers a lively cultural programme. The renovated Arany János Cultural Centre organises performances, family events, exhibitions and concerts, including the Visual Arts Creative Camp, the Pálinka Festival and the Harvest Parade. The Municipal Library welcomes visitors in the former synagogue building, while the Ókécske Community House preserves local heritage through permanent and temporary exhibitions.

Together, the town’s natural, thermal and cultural attractions provide a diverse experience for families, active travellers, wellness guests and culture lovers alike.
